Review: What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge

What Katy Did is a classic story about a twelve year old tomboy named Katy. She has two brothers and three sisters. She is the oldest. Her mother is dead so her Aunt Izzy stays with them to take care of them. It is a very sweet story about Katy's tragic accident.

I give this a 5⭐️ As far as children's books go.

1: I so wanna live back then when 16-year-olds didn't feel awkward sitting on their moms lap. Life sounds so much simpler.

2: You get to love all the characters. Even Aunt Izzy who starts as a bit of a crank.

3: It was squeaky clean. I could totally let a seven year old read this with no worries.

4: It was funny at parts and sad at parts.  It captures emotions beautifully. Emotions that you don't have to be fifteen to understand.

5: My Favorite Person Ever in the books Cousin Helen. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Review: Someone Like You by Victoria Bylin

Julia and Zeke were college sweethearts. Unfortunately they split up six years ago. Now they're thrown back together and sparks are flying. But Julia has a son and Max's father is anything but pleasant. He makes life very hard for everyone.

I give this book 5⭐️Because
1: It was engaging the whole time. The story never lagged. I didn't want to put it down.

2: The characters were deep. They were well rounded and diverse. They weren't the perfect characters that pop out of a mold. They were relatable.

3: It not only dealt with Julia and Zeke as a couple but also Ellen and George. It showed that even older people need companionship. Plus that is so sweet. I loved their storyline.

4: It dealt with differing levels of faith. The struggles of a new Christian. The confusion of a struggling long time Christian. The grace and peace of a well grounded  Christian.

5: Triumph over the bad guy (Hunter) who doesn't love that feeling.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
