Waiting-On-Wednesday: Called to Protect by Lynette Eason

I've been waiting for this one since January! I'll be so excited to get my hands on this one. July is going to be quite the month! All the books that I've been putting on my TBR list are coming out in July!

She'll have to draw on all of her resources to crack the case--and guard her heart. After being dumped by her fiancé, Chloe St. John has decided that the only male she likes is her K-9 German shepherd partner, Hank. But being over the whole romance thing has perks--like giving full attention to her job. Attention she's definitely going to need because a case of human trafficking with connections to her missing cousin just landed in her lap.

Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum is in a race against the clock to rescue his kidnapped daughter when Chloe and Hank are asked to be a part of the task force assembled to bring down the traffickers. Chloe finds herself attracted to the silent, suffering man. But can she trust him? And can Blake trust himself around this firecracker of a woman?

Buckle in. This fast and furious ride will have your heart pumping from the very start.

Review: Let's Be Real by Natasha Bure

From The Back Cover:

A Real Life is the Best Life.

I want to help young women be open to embracing their flaws and fears, to be open-minded in accepting and supporting their friends in whatever they're dealing with, and to truly connect with each other.

We've all been there, dealing with break-outs and breakups, trying to stay true to our faith when social pressures make it challenging, and navigating our teenage years to become who we'll be.

It's so much better when we can be our true, authentic selves. And learn to be real.

Natasha Bure poured her heart into this book, Let's Be Real, and shared the reality of her life. She tore away the mask that people like to keep in place through social media or just plain old imagination. Natasha shared her struggles, her hurts, her failures. She put herself out there. And it was amazing! I could not put Let's Be Real down. It was full of funny stories, good advice, and just down-to-earth-ness that makes this "self-help" sort of book go down easily. Nothing to get stuck in your craw because this book doesn't point fingers. It's real. I love how boldly Natasha shared her faith through every chapter. And I love her approach to self-esteem by differentiating a good self-image and a boastful spirit. I definitely recommend this book! I hope you can get your hands on a copy! I've been wanting to read this since it came out, and finally ordered it on ThriftBooks. Totally worth it!!!!

Waiting-On-Wednesday: In Dreams Forgotten by Tracie Peterson

Tracie Peterson's newest book will come out in July! I can't wait to get my hands on this. I loved the first book in this series and this sequel promises to be everything I want it to be!

Finding her family could cost her everything.Judith Gladstone came to San Francisco after her parents died to find her last living relative, an aunt she never knew she had. Instead she has fallen head over heels in love with Caleb Coulter, her friend's brother. Caleb has promised to help Judith find her aunt, but she can tell he thinks of her only as a friend, and she struggles to hide her feelings whenever she is with him.

When Caleb traces Judith's aunt to the wealthy Whitley family, Judith is united with her long-lost relatives. The truths she learns about her past and her parents are shocking and overwhelming, however, and the more she gets to know her new family, the more danger she uncovers. Someone feels threatened by Judith's appearance in the Whitleys' lives, and they will do whatever it takes to get rid of her.

Review: Refining Fire by Tracie Peterson

Militine Scott is at the Madison Bridal School because it's a safe place. Not because she has any intentions of EVER getting married. She has too many secrets and too much hurt to be able to even consider marriage. Thane Patton also has a lot of pain from his past, but he feels drawn to Militine, and maybe their similar pasts can help them overcome their fear and their lack of trust in God.

I'm giving this book five stars. I'm also wondering what in the world made me wait so long to read this book. Tracie has blown me away in a way that I {for some dumb, unexplainable reason} didn't expect from this book. I really think I like this one better than book one in this series. I read it in one sitting, and went through the wringer of emotions. On the one hand, there is the annoyance/anger at the, not one, but TWO bad guys. The replacement pastor has no business anywhere near a pulpit. Oh, man, was I sooo angry at him! And then there's this Welby fellow who is simply begging to be punched. He's a certain level of evil... the type that can put on a great face. A deceptive villain. The absolute worst! I mean seriously! I can't even put it into words. But on the other hand, watching the growth and development of character of Thane and {especially} Militine was awesome. From outright bitterness and anger at the outset to desperate pleas of trust at the end, this was an incredible journey for these two. And then there is Abrianna…. who is something else entirely. While the book is meant to be about Militine, Abrianna steals the cake. {She's probably literally done that...} From daring escapades to scaring and vexing her poor aunts to death, this girl has to be one of my favorite characters. And of course... crazy plot twist that I can't tell you about because that would be a spoiler, but seriously guys! Abrianna was my favorite part of this book. And the writing was exquisite. At one point, all of Seattle was in flames, and I could hear the crackling flames and feel the panic. And then a firetruck drove past our house and I was kinda confused. But really, this book probably just pulled me out of a slump. That or it put me into one.... You never know after reading a book you love like this.

Have you read this yet? Let me know in the comments what your favorite part was.

That cover is something else that I love! It's incredible!!!

Side note: My mom asked why I was in such a rush to get back to my room after I popped out for something. I told her "I left Seattle in flames!" and that basically sums up my attitude towards books.

Waiting-On-Wednesday: The Lady of Tarpon Springs by Judith Miller

Judith Miller was the first author I read that introduced me to this type of book. Bethany House has gotten quite a lot of business from me because of Judith Miller's Pullman trilogy. This book is set to come out in July.

In 1905 Tarpon Springs, Florida, Zanna Krykos values the independence her career as a lawyer gives her from her very traditional Greek family and the pressure they put on her to find a husband. When a friend inherits a sponging business, Zanna finds herself agreeing to run it for her . . . even though she doubts her legal skills make her qualified.

When offered the chance to lead a team of sponge divers to the United States, experienced Greek diver Nico Kalos can't imagine a better opportunity. But his excitement quickly quells when their team arrives only to discover that a young woman with no experience will be their boss. For the sake of his men and the families they support, he can't let the business fail.

But when both the business and the lives of the employees are threatened, can Zanna and Nico set aside their pride and come together to save what matters most?
