Christmas Party Tradition (Blogmas 17)

Today, the Saturday before Christmas (Eve) is the traditional day for our family Christmas party. Family members drive from hours away to spend this day together. First, like any good party, we start with food. Finger food mostly. Lots of sweets as you can imagine. Of course, sandwiches and veggie trays are there to. Special family recipe punch is also served, and let me tell you, that stuff is aMAZing!!! After food, we have a gift exchange. The only rule is that the gift can only cost one dollar. Then let the craziness begin, because stealing is allowed. It's Dirty Santa, and it is FIERCE!! Of course, laughter is always one of the main parts of this activity. Sometimes we try a game but with 20+ people in a small house, that one doesn't always work out. The third part to our tradition flip-flops between years. We will either do a cookie exchange with each other, or (as we are doing this year) we will make fruit baskets and take them to people locally as we carol. It's one of the most fun things, and we look forward to it all year.

Do you have a similar tradition? Please share it in the comments! As always, Happy Blogmas!!
