It's 2018 Y'all!

Hey guys! First post since January started! I'm very excited. I think I'll just give a general update about what's happened and what's gonna happen.

What's happened:

1: I finished my first semester at Bob Jones University. I joined the Chi Kappa Delta Dragons as my society. I was elected as spirit leader for my society next semester. I made a ton of new friends and participated in a lot of fun outreaches and other things.

2: I've gotten my first real job. I work as a late stay worker, teachers' aide, and music hall monitor at Bob Jones Academy

3: My friend Suzanna taught me how to play the ukulele. I'm addicted!

4: I learned how to crochet. I'm pretty okay at it.

5: I survived Atlanta airport by myself. Twice. I was impressed with myself.

6: Today I went to Ollie's and got Always Watching by Lynette Eason, The Shock of Night by Patrick W Carr, and Sabotage by Dani Pettrey and I got Chinese food so that's nothing to sneeze at! Also got my new glasses.

What's going to happen!

1: Classes resume on Wednesday I think, but I'll be back down there no later than Monday.

2: On January 23rd Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse are going to be at the BJU Bruins Shop and I literally CANNOT wait! It's going to be so epic. My goal is to get pictures and post them. Time permitting. Fingers crossed. Two of my favorite authors at once! Whatever will I do? (Probably make a fool of myself with nerves but whatever!)

3: The two year blogversary is going to be in March and I am trying to think up a great prize. Input appreciated.

4: Other things that I'm not aware of yet but I will let you know. Probably. I'm sorry I'm not around as much as I used to be. College is keeping me plenty busy.

BookApp of the Week: ThriftBooks

I downloaded this app Wednesday, and I'm not gonna lie, and say that I know all the ins and outs yet. But I will tell you that I LOVE THIS APP! I just started my ThriftBooks account a couple days ago, and I ordered three books for $10, with FREE SHIPPING for the US! It's incredible. One of the books I had picked out was condition-wise classified as Very Good, but they upgraded it to Like New for free, because it was greener that way. And by downloading the app, I got a 15% off coupon. Also, for every $50 you spend on books, you get a $5 coupon. This thing is awesome! I can't believe I only just found this site/app. I just spent like half an hour adding things to my Wish-List. Something that I really like about this app is that when you add a book that is out of stock to your wish list, it shows you how often they get a copy of that book and how many other people are watching the item. I really really want you to check it out! I'll be sharing picture, probably on Twitter, I'm sort of a Twitter-holic, (@3714Bookdragon) of the books when they come. I can't wait to share with all of you.

BookApp of the Week: Nook

Nook is possibly my least favorite app. You cannot search any books that aren't already on your Nook. The only reason I actually use this app is to read books that aren't on my Kindle or iBooks but that I've already payed for. Unless you've got a Nook account, then this isn't an app I'd recommend. Sorry that this week wasn't a great app like the others, but it goes both ways here.

BookApp of the Week: Book Bazaar Reader

This is an app I downloaded on my laptop. I can download books in kindle form (and probably other forms, it's just I've only tried kindle) from email straight to this app. It's really easy to use and saves your spot. And also has the cutest logo ever! I use this all the time! Free!!!!!!

BookApp of the Week: iBooks

I have iBooks, but I don't use it as much as Kindle, simply because all my books are on Kindle. One feature that I really like about iBooks is the fact that when the room is dark the screen switches colors so that the words are white on a black background. It helps save the eyes. You can sort books by recent, title, author, or categories. And it's free, so that's not nothin'...

BookApp of the Week: Overdrive

I had this app on my phone, but it was just to small and wasn't working that well. I much prefer using the website. It uses your library card to check out ebooks. You can have 6 holds and 5 check outs at a time. You can have the books for 21 days. Formats include EPub and Kindle. Which I love since I can send the book directly to my kindle app.

BookApp of the Week: BookBub

BookBub isn't actually an app. It's a website that sends you emails tailored to your book selections. These emails contain new release updates from your favorite authors & free and discounted books in your favorite genres and authors. I love getting this email. I have such a large collection of ebooks ready for me to read now that I've signed up for BookBub. And it only sends me emails I want to see. No spam. Just emails that deal with the authors/genres that I chose when signing up. And don't worry, you can always go back in and add more authors afterwards if you forgot one. It offers free ebooks for Kindle, iPhone, Nook, and a few others! And, also free to sign up for! Yay for free stuff!

BookApp of the Week: Goodreads

This is not a reading app. Instead, Goodreads is a social media app that allows you to review books, connect with other readers, follow authors, mark books as read or to-read, get book recommendations based on your previous reads, join book groups, take the reading challenge, and much more! This app is also free, so you have nothing to lose!

BookApp of the Week Meme

I'm hosting a meme and it's happening on Fridays! I'll be posting my favorite book apps, and maybe trying a few new ones to share.

Wanna join the fun and share your favorite app? Grab the pic (your app doesn't need to be in the pic! There are lots to choose from!) and leave a link to your post in the comments!

BookApp of the Week: Kindle

The most used book app on my phone is Kindle. It has all my books from my kindle and my phone linked through it and it's how I download books I receive in emails when I want them on my phone. You can access the Kindle ebook store and download free samples, but the one drawback is that I can't (that I can discover) buy books, even free ones, from my phone. Other than that this is the easiest and best reading app. Also, free download!
